Cast Paint Skins

To create these collaged works, layers of paint are applied to various objects to create a cast. Once the cast paint has reached the desired thickness, it is peeled from the object, resulting in a solid piece of dried paint – aka paint skins – that captures the negative space around and the patina from the original object’s surface. The completed works are a bricolage of dried paint skins and urban detritus.
